Celeste Mauro is an artist and designer whose work embraces a great diversity of media and style. As a water-colorist, her paintings are imbued with a wonderful sense of light and place. Some recent works explore the medium of collage and are an exciting combination of traditional watercolor techniques and exotic papers. Ms. Mauro also creates digital ‘paintings’ from her won photos using the computer. Her custom-designed knit creations are also an expression of her passion for color and texture.

Ms. Mauro earned a graduate degree in Studio Art from Adelphi University in Garden City, and undergraduate degrees in art and design at Adelphi University and Parsons School of Design. She has studied with noted water-colorists, including Tony vanHasselt, Zoltan Szabo, Frank Web, Mel Stabin, Judi Betts, and Alvaro Castagnet. As a member of the Art League of Long Island, she also worked with Ward Hooper and Lucy Taylor.

Ms. Mauro is a member of The Firefly Artists, a cooperative gallery featuring local artists and located in the heart of Northport Village. She is a member of the Art League of Long Island and has exhibited in several shows there. She is also a member of the Northport Arts Coalition and Smithtown Township Arts Council.
